The instant their skin met, Maloney felt a jolt of unease shoot through him.
Turning to Hannah, he silently urged her to leave. But the medication coursing through his veins made his body not to cooperate, and he gripped her arm tightly.
Feeling his distress, Hannah tensed. Before she could react, Joselyn intervened.
“What’s happening?” Joselyn demanded, trying to pull Hannah away.

Hannah let go of Maloney and dodged Joselyn’s grasp.
